Dear Senator Dibble and Representative Melin:

The Violent Crimes Coordinating Council (VCCC) was established by the Minnesota Legislature in 2010 to provide guidance related to the investigation and prosecution of drug crime. At the December 11, 2013 VCCC meeting, members voted to join with the Minnesota Law Enforcement Coalition in opposition to proposed medical marijuana legislation in the state of Minnesota.

The Minnesota Sheriffs' Association was formed in 1885. The Association consists of 87 Minnesota sheriffs and their staffs representing a diversity of regions, from agricultural and wilderness, to metropolitan. Each sheriff has their own unique situation, their duties, responsibilities, and yet many of the problems they encounter are common to all.
